The pavilion sits in the midst of pine groves by Ssangcheon(stream originating from Mt. Seoraksan, Daecheongbong). Oh Yun-hwan (pseudonym : Maegokcheosa) established this diminutive pavilion in 1933. He was born in this village in 1872, during the 9th year of King Gojong(the king of Joseon).

Mr.Oh spent his entire life studying literature, mainly Sung Confucianism (human nature and natural law:the rule of Heaven), and nurturing the talents of numerous gifted pupils. The hexagonal shaped pavilion is usually called "Yukmojeong" (six-angle-pavilion). There are four calligraphic inscriptions placed under the eves:"Hakmujeong" to the south, "Yeongmoje" to the north, "Injidang" to the northeast, "Gyeongeuje" to the southwest. Such antiquity in the midst of luxuriant pine groves with its neighboring traditional houses adds a scenic beauty to the place.
